The activities of the 15th Agricultural Week begin today, Sunday, on the grounds of the Baghdad International Fair, with the participation of 50 Arab and foreign companies.
The Administrative Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Mahdi Sahar Al-Jubouri, said in a statement to “Al-Sabah”: The exhibition, which lasts for six days until the eighth of this month, aims to open horizons of cooperation with various countries of the world, to revitalize agriculture and reduce dependence on the importer, and is considered a qualitative transition and an important link. To communicate between the public and private sectors, exchange experiences in the agricultural fields, both animal and plant, highlight government achievements in the sector, and interact with farmers and wealth breeders.

He stated that the exhibition, which is being held under the slogan (Agricultural Week for Mechanization Production, Agricultural and Animal Production, and Food Industries), includes equipment, mechanization, animal and plant production, and food industries, with the participation of the ministry’s directorates and companies in Baghdad and the governorates, and those affiliated with the region and the holy shrines, with local, Arab, and foreign companies, in addition to those affiliated with it. The Ministries of Water Resources and Industry, as well as a number of embassies and diplomatic bodies operating in the country.
Al-Jubouri pointed out that there will be a qualitative and effective participation of 50 reputable local, Arab and foreign companies to display their products and regulated irrigation systems in addition to those related to mechanization to serve the agricultural process in the country, in addition to participation from Gulf countries that specialize in manufacturing sprinklers, and have contracts with the Ministry to manufacture them, noting that the exhibition It aims to exchange experiences and find plans to advance private sector projects of various types to support the country's economy.
He stated that the exhibition will include holding a conference on youth and the agricultural future, under the slogan (Youth-led leadership in the food, agriculture and climate sector) during the last two days. The conference will also include lectures, workshops, seminars, the application of agricultural initiatives in the manufacture of modern systems, and the provision of financial support for the purpose of achieving them.
