“We have almost 3 million [Syrian refugees] on our budget, but there is nothing promised from Europe yet. If the European Union doesn’t fulfill its promises, then Turkey will not follow the agreement. The countries that are higher than us economically have also not shown the same human relationship,” Erdogan said during a speech before police forces in Ankara.
On March 18, the European Union and Turkey signed an agreement on the return of all illegal migrants who arrived Greece via Turkey in exchange for allowing a visa-free regime for Turkish citizens, as well as allotting Ankara 3 billion euros in migrant support.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that if the European Union doesn’t fulfill its promises, then Turkey will not follow the agreement on migrants.
ANKARA (Sputnik) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused the European Union of not fulfilling its promises on migration in line with an agreement signed with Ankara and has threatened it will not fulfill its promises if the European Union does not act.“We have almost 3 million [Syrian refugees] on our budget, but there is nothing promised from Europe yet. If the European Union doesn’t fulfill its promises, then Turkey will not follow the agreement. The countries that are higher than us economically have also not shown the same human relationship,” Erdogan said during a speech before police forces in Ankara.
