    Called a local official in Wasit province, the Iraqi government to accelerate the completion of procedures relating Shihabi port in preparation for the start of work in it, and as pointed out that the new port will double the volume of trade exchange between Iran and Iraq and contribute to facilitate the entry of nearly two million Iranian visitors to the country, he stressed that the Iranian side is better prepared from the Iraqi government for the opening of the said port. 
    The director of hand Sheikh Saad (55 km southeast of Kut) Tariq Ahmed Hamashi in an interview (long - Presse) that " the Iraqi government is required today to complete the technical and administrative procedures relating to introduction Shihabi port to maintain after preapproved on its development." 
    Hamashi added that "Shihabi port would be a great deal of importance to absorb large numbers of visitors in the religious events as well as the lifting of trade exchange between Iraq and Iran level , " noting that " the port will accommodate entry of nearly two million visitors and thus relieve momentum for Zurbatiyah port , which is the nearest ports to the city of Karbala and the non - recurrence of the chaos that took place in it during a visit last year and the previous year. "and Hamashi" The Iranian side more willing than the Iraqi government for the opening of the said port and this is what we saw repeated meetings with them but the glitch delays lies with the Iraqi government , "calling on ministries such as planning, finance and interior to " the need for an exception Shihabi port of disbursement procedures and to secure sufficient funds to accomplish it ." 
    Hamashi explained that "Shihabi port south Zurbatiyah port is located at about (70 kilometers) away from the main road Cote - Maysan (about 45 km) and offset by the Iranian side Cenglh border area within dehloran city and therefore it is the nearest border crossing points to the lines of communication with the city of Karbala" . 
     The Wasit province have been announced on Friday (twenty - sixth of February 2016) reported that eight ministries federal confirmed its agreement to develop Shihabi port with Iran, and as pointed to the absence of any obstacles to the start with the exception of a lack of funds, confirmed the new port significant positive impact on the economic side of the province.
