    Twilight News / US State Department issued the annual report of human rights for 2016, which reviews the human rights situation in 200 countries in the world, noting that the human rights situation has improved in the past year in some countries.
    A senior official in the US State Department said during a telephone conference with a group of journalists that the human rights situation has improved in the past year in some countries where democratic governments have arisen and this is a positive thing and fell in the other (as he put it).
    The US official pointed out that most of the violations of human rights are concentrated on the lack of the ability to choose the government and add to abuses by the security forces, particularly acts of torture and executions outside the framework of the judiciary and discrimination in the treatment of minorities and racial discrimination and sexual violence against women.
    He renewed assurances Foreign Minister Rex Tillerson put forward in his testimony before Congress about the centrality of human rights in American foreign policy official.
    The report highlighted that violence is still divides Iraq at a time when Iraqi forces seek to eliminate the organization "Daesh" west of Mosul, criticizing the widespread corruption and lack of transparency at the government level weakened the powers of government and contributed to the decline freedoms.
    The report stressed that the bulk of humanitarian violations committed in the country, "Daesh" militants who have targeted their attacks ethnic and religious minorities, women and children, noting that the Iraqi government has opened investigations into these crimes and published their results.
