Commission on economy and investment: money control contraband law amendment would limit the money laundering

Member of the Committee on the economy and investment the National Alliance parliamentarian Ibrahim Al-Rikabi, the adoption Amendment Act, seizure of funds smuggled into the House will support the national economy and reducing money laundering.
Rikabi said (Agency news) on Monday that members of the House of representatives voted to amend the law on seizure of funds, which is one of the important laws that will control the sale of foreign currency on the auction of Central Bank actions, monitors the financial transfer.
He added that the law would limit the phenomenon of money laundering that spread during the recent period through fake companies and banks are to convert currencies abroad, adding that the continuation of this process would affect the financial balance of Iraq of hard currency.
He continued: so the code adjust smuggled funds will contribute effectively to the fight against money laundering and support the economic development of the country.
The House voted to amend the law of seizure of smuggled money during the regular meeting last Monday.
