Abadi continues his meetings with senior US officials

Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi, on his current visit to Washington, will continue his meetings with senior US officials and officials on the governmental and legislative side.
A statement issued by his office late on Friday said Abadi "met at the Congressional Building with the Iraq Support Group, which includes a group of members of the US House of Representatives from the bipartisan and democratic parties."
Abadi also met "Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate leaders."
The statement referred to the prime minister's meeting with the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee headed by Bob Corker.
