The World Assembly of Islamic Cities (WAIC) kicked off Sunday in the western city of Qazvin in the presence of President Hassan Rowhani.
The conference, hosted by the Imam Khomeini International University, aims to achieve the goals of sustainable development and the prosperity of cities, opportunities and challenges facing Islamic cities.
The conference will be attended by 800 foreign and Iranian guests, especially representatives of the United Nations, ambassadors, mayors and a host of scientists from the countries of Iraq, Turkey, India, Bangladesh, Palestine, Indonesia, China, Morocco, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
