Polling stations opened their doors in South Korea on Tuesday to hold presidential elections after the dismissal of former President Park Gwynne-Hai after a major corruption scandal.

After a short election campaign dominated by the issue of employment and inequality more than the North Korean file, voters were invited to go to 139 thousand of the number of polling stations, and it seems that the turnout would be a record.

The Democratic Party candidate Moon Jae-The logical candidate to win the election, has been known activism for human rights.

Poll winning 38 percent of the voting intentions showed, ahead of the average by far-Anne Cheol-soo and Hong conservative John-Pew.

Moon is, if elected, following a less hostile approach toward North Korea Park, and greater independence from US custody.
