South Korea's defense ministry said on Tuesday that the two Koreas have fully recovered the military communications line along the western part of the Korean Peninsula.
"The restoration and full normalization of the Western communications line is part of efforts to implement the Panmunjom Declaration," the Yonhap news agency quoted a South Korean defense source as saying, adding that this would contribute to the efforts of the two Koreas to ease tension and build trust between them.
"The declaration of the April 27 inter-Korean summit, in which the two Koreas agreed to cease all hostilities against each other and to promote bilateral relations and complete nuclear disarmament on the Korean Peninsula," the source said.
The full restoration of the military communications line is part of the two-year military talks held by the two Koreas on June 14, the first such talks in 10 years. Finished
