    US Special Envoy to the International Coalition, Brit Mccorgk, welcomed Kuwait's announcement that it intends to host a long-term reconstruction meeting in early next year.
    "Our partner in the coalition of Kuwait and at the invitation of the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will host a long-term reconstruction of Iraq early next year and we welcome this important initiative," McGork said in a speech.
    He pointed out that long-term reconstruction will be the focus of the meeting in Kuwait after the Iraqi government has identified "its priority needs."
    The meeting, in which Kuwait participated, discussed the agenda of the coalition conference next week to discuss priorities that will help build on the progress made in the Iraqi cities of Mosul and Raqqa.
    In his speech, MacGorek congratulated Iraq on the restoration of the city of Mosul, saying that the Iraqi forces trained by the coalition forces defeated a supporter (in all battles) and is now a pride for Iraq.
    He said about 2 million Iraqis who had fled Mosul had now returned to their homes to resume their lives in their communities. "The return rates in an environment that has just emerged from an unprecedented conflict are strong evidence of the good work we have done as an alliance by working together," he said.
    But the US envoy said that the battle in Iraq was not over yet and that the focus was now on liberating the remaining areas, which are still under the control of an advocate, stressing that "we will support them in their military campaign and the next in the field of humanitarian conditions, stability and governance."
