    He said UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash, the "lack of confidence" with the Doha behind the aggravation of the current crisis between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt on the one hand, and Qatar on the other.

    Abizaid and Gargash: "Qatar has spent millions to weaken Egypt and worked to destabilize Saudi Arabia , " he explained: "Qatar 's role in the destabilization must stop."

    He called for the imposition of "international monitoring" on Qatar, to make sure its commitment to its obligations and stop its sponsorship of terrorist ideas.
    Gargash said that the memorandum of understanding that the United States and Qatar signed on the financing of terrorism represent a positive development, stressing that "there are indications that the pressure exerted on the Doha to succeed."
    He added: "We are (calling for countries to combat terrorism) are ready because this process takes a long time."
    The crisis began 40 days before, when Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt severed ties with Qatar, after the latter 's involvement in supporting and financing terrorism operations.
    Most international efforts have failed in resolving the crisis, which was most recently by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
