North Korea's envoy to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (DPRK) said that his country's arsenal of deterrence and self-defense would never be discussed at the negotiating table.
His remarks came during the UN-sponsored conference in Geneva after US envoy Robert Wood said the top priority of US President Donald Trump was to protect his country and its allies against the "growing threat" from North Korea.
"The measures taken by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to strengthen its nuclear deterrent capability and to develop justified intercontinental missiles are a legitimate option for self-defense in the face of such clear and real threats," he said, referring to "permanent nuclear threats" from the United States.
"As long as US hostile policy and nuclear threat continue as it is, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will not put its defensive capability to deter the negotiating table," he said. Ending 29/34 R.
