US health minister resigns after scandal

The US Secretary of Health in the administration of President Donald Trump has been forced to resign amid a scandal over the use of private jets for his state trips.
"Health and Human Services Secretary Thomas Price resigned earlier today and the president accepted it," White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement.
The statement came less than an hour after Trump told reporters that Price did not offer to resign, but his fate would be decided later.
"The president intends to appoint Don Jay," Sanders said. "I have come from Virginia to serve as acting health minister from September 29." Wright was Assistant Secretary of Health.
Politeco, which disclosed the case, said Price had made at least 26 trips since the beginning of the year, costing a total of 400,000 dollars.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that the trips were of a governmental nature, thus defending the legitimacy of the expenses, but included places where he owns a house. Ending / 25
