[rtl]Qatar's Energy and Industry Minister Mohammed bin Saleh al-Sada said his country is committed to the decision to reduce production, which was adopted by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) at its meeting last December.[/rtl]
[rtl]In a statement to reporters on the sidelines of the International Conference on Cooling and Heating of the Regions, which opened in Doha today, Al-Sadi stressed the importance of the agreement to reduce production and the benefits of commitment to it.[/rtl]
[rtl]In early 2017, OPEC members and independent producers began cutting production by 1.8 million barrels per day (bpd) for six months and extended in May for another 9 months ending in March 2018 in a bid to restore stability to oil markets.[/rtl]
[rtl]"The reduction in production has been positively reflected on the world oil market and the latest balance in it," he added.[/rtl]
[rtl]"The commitment of the OPEC countries and beyond, with the agreed reductions of 1.8 million barrels per day, exceeded 100 percent."[/rtl]
[rtl]"If the next conference sees the need to extend the production reduction agreement, Doha will support it," he said.[/rtl]
[rtl]Crude oil markets around the world are suffering from oversupply and limited demand amid steps being taken by FAO and independent producers to cut oil stocks.[/rtl]
