The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia on Thursday called upon the citizens of the Kingdom, visitors and residents of Lebanon, to leave as soon as possible.
"Given the situation in the Republic of Lebanon, the Kingdom is asking its visiting citizens and residents in Lebanon to leave as soon as possible," the ministry said in a statement.
"We advise citizens not to travel to Lebanon from any international destination," the statement said.
During his visit to Saudi Arabia, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri recently announced his resignation, saying he had evidence of an assassination attempt, similar to the assassination of his father, Rafiq al-Hariri.
