[ltr]US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday his willingness to mediate between the parties demanding sovereignty in the South China Sea, including Vietnam and China.[/ltr]
[ltr]"If I can mediate or arbitration, please let me know," Trump said in remarks made at the start of a meeting with Vietnamese President Tran Dae Quang.[/ltr]
[ltr]Trump acknowledged that China's position on the South China Sea, for which Beijing claims nearly all sovereignty, is a problem. "I am a very good broker and referee," he said.[/ltr]
[ltr]He also said China was helping resolve the tensions over North Korea, adding that he hoped Russia would do the same[/ltr]
