    The Executive Council of the 12th Arab Ministerial Council for Water will hold its meeting on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, with the participation of ministers responsible for water in eight Arab countries (Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Mauritania, Sudan, Qatar and the United Comoros).

    Dr. Jamal Gaballah, Director of the Department of Environment, Housing and Water Resources at the Arab League, said that the Executive Office will discuss a number of water issues in the Arab countries, in particular the follow-up of the implementation plan for the water security strategy in the Arab region to meet the challenges and future requirements for sustainable development. Implement sustainable development plan 2030 for water.

     
    The meeting will discuss the Arab cooperation in the use of shared water resources and the Arab preparation for the 8th World Water Forum and discuss the regional initiative for interrelationship between the energy, water and food sectors in the Arab countries and their activities. In addition to discussing the strengthening of negotiating capacities in Arab countries on shared water resources with non-Arab countries.
     
    The office will also discuss cooperation with Arab and international organizations and relevant funding institutions within the framework of the Arab Ministerial Council for Water for the years 2017-2018,
     
    A report on the practices of the Israeli occupation authority in the theft of Arab water in the occupied Syrian Golan, southern Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories will also be discussed during the meeting, as well as discussing the support of Iraq's rights regarding the conservation of water resources in Nahari Tigris and Euphrates .
     
    The 16th meeting of the Scientific Technical Advisory Committee of the Arab Ministerial Council for Water at the level of senior officials is scheduled to begin on Sunday at the headquarters of the Secretariat of the League of Arab States to prepare the draft agenda of the Executive Office.
