Ministry of Justice announced the Portuguese Friday that the two sons of former Iraqi ambassador to Portugal formally charged with "attempted murder" to Aatdaihma violently on the boy in this country in 2016 , the

He added that the defendants, who survived the former Iraqi ambassador Saad Mohammad Reza, "violently assaulted their victims by running over him and beat him violently on the head and face and left him unconscious," noting that "rapid intervention by a surgeon" allowed the rescue of the victim.




She noted that "this violent attack on a teenager by twin brothers aged 17 are the children of the ambassador of Iraq in Portugal, has caused great resentment in the country," noting that "after the attack opened an investigation, but the suspects did not stop because they enjoy immunity diplomacy". 

The Portuguese authorities have demanded several times to lift their immunity so that the judiciary can hear their reports in vain. 

The former Iraqi ambassador, Saad Mohammed Reza, left his post in 2017. 

In an interview with Portuguese television in August, Najla expressed their willingness to bear the consequences of their behavior, asserting at the same time that they were in a state of self-defense and that they had been assaulted by the hands of 5 Or 6 young men, including the victim Robin. 

But in January 2017 an extrajudicial agreement was reached between the parties and the family of the boy who had been assaulted accepted the compensation agreement.

The victim, Ruben Cavaco, who was 15 at the time of the attack, received 40,000 euros in compensation for the damage in question and added 12,000 euros for medical expenses, the Portuguese news agency Lusa reported. 

"From the moment we reached an agreement that ended with my turn, the criminal aspect of the case has become the jurisdiction of the judiciary," said Robin Cavaco's lawyer Santana Maya Leonardo.
