The Ministry of Communications announced on Wednesday the restoration of landline services to a number of government departments in the capital Baghdad after an interruption of about 15 years.
The ministry said in a statement obtained by Trend Press that "the pace of work of engineering and technical teams in the cable bodies of Badal Al Rasheed of the Communications Directorate of Rusafa escalated as it was able to repair the cable capacity of 1200 subscribers, which feeds a number of departments of the Ministry of Industry as well as the Directorate of Public Works A directorate of the Ministry of the Interior and other government departments in addition to shops and the role of citizens. "
The statement added that "after the completion of technical maintenance and rehabilitation of the cable has been introduced all the telephone lines to the service to the beneficiaries, in addition to the replacement cable damaged by another new distance of (50 m) within the geographical area of the switch and entered all the cabins to service on this track after stopping.
