    The United States renewed its commitment to Iraq in the area of ​​eliminating terrorism and continuing cooperation in all military and economic fields.
    This came during a meeting between US Deputy Secretary of State John Sliven and his accompanying delegation with Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in Baghdad, according to a statement obtained by al-Mada. 
    The statement said that "the meeting discussed the development of relations between the two countries and the results of the meetings of the High Coordination Committee to activate the agreement on the joint strategic framework between Iraq and the United States of America," pointing out that "the two sides stressed the importance of economic relations and attract investment and job creation." 
    Silvan stressed his country's support for "Iraq in various fields, especially with the great victories achieved by the Iraqi forces against the terrorist gangs, supporting the reconstruction efforts and stimulating the economy." 
    Later, the US Deputy Secretary of State, Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri, met with a number of issues including the return of the displaced and the electoral file.
    "During the meeting, the security and political situation at the local and regional levels was discussed and ways of continuing coordination between Iraq and the United States in combating terrorism and developing economic, commercial and development cooperation," the office of the speaker of the House of Representatives said. 
    The meeting also included "discussing the latest developments in Iraqi affairs and the need to resolve the internal differences through serious and fruitful dialogue with the participation of all parties. It also aims at creating an environment conducive to achieving reconciliation, strengthening the Iraqi community building and taking into consideration the rights of citizens. 
    The two sides discussed "the files of the return of the displaced, the upcoming parliamentary elections, the reconstruction of the liberated areas, and the role of Iraq in the formulation of the map of stability in the region."
