The Duhok Mosul road was formally opened today for commercial purposes.
"The opening of this (commercial) route is very important to restore stability in the region and to revive the economy and breathe the spirit again," said Bashar al-Kiki, head of the Nineveh provincial council.
He explained: "The importance of opening this route commercially, comes from being connected to the east through the West through Turkey, which contributes to connect Mosul to the world commercially."
The Kiki had held a number of meetings with military commanders in the province and in Nineveh to open the road commercial and civilian after obtaining approvals from the command of joint operations.
