BAGHDAD - A criminal court in Baghdad appealed on Tuesday for a 10-year sentence against a gang of three for the crime of stealing banking firms in Baghdad.
"The criminal court in Baghdad's Rusafa appeal sentenced a gang convicted of stealing banking companies in Baghdad to 10 years in prison," Judge Abdul Sattar Berqdar, spokesman for the Supreme Judicial Council, said in a statement.
"The investigations showed that the gang had stolen a banking company by demolishing the shop wall and robbing it," he said.
He explained that "the judgment was issued on the basis of the provisions of Article 443 / III / and fifth of the Iraqi Penal Code."
