[ltr]MOSCOW (Reuters) - A Russian diplomat warned on Wednesday that the world would enter a cold war if the West continued to bias against Moscow over Russia's accusation of being behind a nerve gas attack on a former Russian spy in Britain.[/ltr]
[ltr]"The world will enter a state of cold war if the West continues to bias against Moscow," Russian Ambassador to Australia Gregory Lugvinov said in response to a nerve gas attack on a former Russian spy in Britain.[/ltr]
[ltr]"The West must understand that the anti-Russian campaign has no future, and if it continues, we will go into a cold war."[/ltr]
[ltr]Russia denies any involvement in the nerve gas attack on March 4 on the former spy Sergey Scrippel and his daughter in England.[/ltr]
[ltr]The United States and governments throughout Europe expelled Russian diplomats collectively in response to the attack[/ltr]
[ltr]Australia said on Tuesday it would expel two Russian diplomats, prompting Luzhinov to speak hastily to the media this morning.[/ltr]
[ltr]Lugovinov rejected claims that Moscow was responsible for the attack, saying that "his country has not yet determined its response to the diplomatic action by Britain's allies.[/ltr]
[ltr]Luxembourg has recalled its ambassador to Moscow for consultations following the poisoning of the Russian spy. "It supports the British government's analysis that it is very likely that Russia will be responsible for this work," the government said in a statement[/ltr]
