Japan plans to impose tariffs on US exports

Japan is considering charging US exports of $ 409 million in return for a fee for steel and aluminum imports imposed by US President Donald Trump, Japan Broadcasting Corporation said Thursday.
The agency said the government was preparing to notify the World Trade Organization of the plan, a measure necessary under the rules of world trade.
The move is likely to be part of efforts to push Washington to add Japan to the list of duty-free countries.
Tokyo's planned tariffs on US exports are equivalent in value to the tariffs imposed by Washington.
Japan is Washington's only big ally, which has not been exempted from Trump's fee decision, which shocked many policymakers in view of the close ties between Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and the US president. Ending / 25
