Japan and the United States plan to impose a ban on oil exports to North Korea

    Editorial Date: 2017/8/30

{International: Euphrates News} Japan and the United States plan to propose tougher additional sanctions on North Korea, potentially including a ban on oil exports to the country.
The United Nations Security Council unanimously approved the adoption of a presidential statement strongly condemning North Korea's experience of launching a ballistic missile over Japan and fell in the western Pacific.
The Council demanded that such provocative moves cease immediately.
Japanese Ambassador to the United Nations Kuro Peshu called for "additional sanctions against North Korea."
When asked by reporters about the possibility of an oil embargo, Bisho said: "This is one of the options."
"Japan and the United States will negotiate with other countries on a new sanctions resolution aimed at increasing pressure on North Korea," Japanese diplomatic sources said.
The United States has previously called for a ban on oil exports to Pyongyang, but China strongly opposed the move, saying it would seriously affect the lives of North Korean people.
