Political analyst Hazem Al-Bawi criticized Monday the role of the prosecutor and his apparent lack of cooperation with Interpol in arresting the guilty politicians outside Iraq, pointing out that the judiciary has become politicized and the Iraqi people have lost faith in those organs.
"The MPs and politicians accused of terrorism, criminal and financial and administrative corruption, may escape the grip of justice before the implementation of the sentences issued against them by the Iraqi judiciary," Al-Bawi said in a statement.
He added that "Iraq and over the past years had a date with many occasions politicization of the judiciary or lack of seriousness in the follow-up of these cases, especially with the accused figures fleeing from abroad amid a complete inability to deal with the fugitives deal with the Interpol International Police, just as happened with Barzani When Berlin forced him to return the German girl's killer.
