The events of Iraq and the protests that have continued for days because of the living conditions, overshadowed Kuwait more than any other Gulf country because of the geographical location and proximity of the two countries, and the history of relations between the two countries.
Since the outbreak of protests in Iraq, Kuwait has begun to take precautionary measures to avoid any emergency that may occur. Security guards have stepped up their border with Iraq and Kuwait Airways has canceled its flights to Najaf, which has witnessed protests and unrest.
In the meantime, the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has not lost sight of the inflamed Iraqi scene, declaring his country's readiness to provide the possible support to overcome the neighboring country through its circumstances to achieve all that is in the best interest of the Iraqi people.
On the internal Kuwaiti level, the Ministry of Defense, Interior and National Guard, in a coordination meeting on Monday, have shown their full readiness and coordination among them to confront various conditions and to safeguard the security and stability of the country.
The National Assembly also decided to hold a meeting at the request of a number of deputies in the presence of the government to discuss the events and developments in Iraq, and the implications of that on the Kuwaiti border, and preparations to face various possibilities.
Apart from the official side, Iraq did not miss the articles of the book and activists' Twitter through the social networking sites in Kuwait, including the writer Abdul Hadi Al-Saleh, who sympathized with the Iraqi people justified his uprising against corruption in an article (thirst on the banks of the Tigris and Euphrates) .
Al-Saleh said in an article published by Al-Anbaa newspaper that "the Iraqi people have the right to be angry. Iraq is the black country of trees, palm trees, fruit and the living of amber, the country of milk and rivers, the country of oil and industry. Is it not haraam for the Iraqi to die of starvation and thirst, in the heat of the summer heat, and in the cold of winter? "
In another article by Ghanim al-Najjar, he explained that "the launching of the protests was not strange. It was not surprising." He said, "The Iraqi leadership has sued the corrupt or corrupt political leaders, and the Iraqi body was pulled on the thorns and its resources were depleted and transferred to a poor country. "In Iraq there is hunger," says the great Iraqi poet Bader Shaker al-Sayab. "What has passed and Iraq is not hungry."
Through social networking sites, Kuwaiti reactions to the protests, which witnessed a clear difference between activists who were accustomed to clear differences in their view of the relationship with Iraq as a result of the Iraqi invasion, whose events are still alive in the memory of a number of Kuwaitis,
Despite the sympathy of a number of activists with the Iraqi people, calling for stability and calm and salvation from corruption and the collection of their rights, but others did not forget the events of the invasion, which is days away from now, and farewell to Kuwaiti security to tighten security on the border to avoid any transgression by the Iraqis.
The Kuwaiti-Iraqi relations are repeated every year, as the anniversary of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on August 2 approaches one of the most prominent events of the 20th century, the effects of which remain apparent to many Kuwaitis who have lost their children And their relatives in this war, which culminated in an international military intervention followed by the liberation of Kuwait o
