"The constitution allows the people to change the new government even if it is formed and elected by parliament," legal expert Ali al-Tamimi said on Wednesday, adding that the people have the power to sack the government and parliament and elect new people to lead the country.
"Article 5 of the Iraqi constitution states that the people are the source of the authorities and this article confirms the peaceful transfer of power. As article 49 states that each deputy represents 100 thousand Iraqi citizens, the people have thus given the parliament an election agency," al-Tamimi said in a statement.
