Shafaq News/ Azm Alliance sent a message on Saturday to the Taqaddom Party, which is led by the current Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, regarding the electoral entitlements of the Sunni political forces during the process of forming the new government.
The Azm alliance includes several Sunni leaders, led by Muthanna al-Samarrai, Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, Qasim al-Fahdawi, Salim al-Jubouri and Khaled al-Obaidi, and they were also joined recently by Ahmad Abdullah al-Jubouri (Abu Mazen).
And the resolve of an alliance emerged from under the mantle of Khamis al-Khanjar, after his rapprochement with the current parliament speaker, Muhammad al-Halbousi, and now heads the Sovereignty Alliance, which includes the rest of the resolve and progress party led by al-Halbousi.
Azm leader Haider Al-Mulla told Shafaq News Agency, "The Azm Alliance will not practice the policy of exclusion against the Progress Party, and it will provide it with benefits and take a large part of it through the position of Speaker of Parliament."
Al-Mulla added, "If the Taqaddam party does not want the position of Speaker of Parliament, then Muhammad al-Halbousi should leave the position, and the Azm Alliance takes him, and the alliance has many qualified and capable personalities to manage this position, so that it takes some ministerial portfolios in its place."
And he continued, "The ministries will be divided into the remaining points according to the parliamentary seats, especially since the position of the Speaker of Parliament takes (30) points, and for this the majority of the ministries that are eligible for the Sunni component will be the share of the Alliance of Azm, because of the points it possesses according to its parliamentary seats, and the fact that it did not take any position.
The map of alliances that emerged after the holding of the last legislative elections, in 2021, imposed several fissures at the level of the three main components (Kurds, Sunnis, and Shiites), which made it more difficult to resolve the current political impasse, which has entered its ninth month, to no avail.

“Azm” has the option to “progress” between two things: ministerial portfolios or changing Al-Halbousi
