Abadi: Not dealing with the dollar with Iran does not mean compliance with US sanctions
Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said that Baghdad is committed not to deal with the US dollar with Iran, but does not comply with US sanctions on Tehran.
"Our position is consistent with the rejection of aggression against neighboring countries from Iraqi territory," Abadi said at the weekly press conference.
"Our commitment to Iran is not to deal with the dollar and not to comply with US sanctions," he said.
Abadi said last week that his government was not reacting to or sympathetic to economic sanctions against Iran. "But we will stick to them because we do not want to endanger the interests of the Iraqis," he said.
