The first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, said Monday that the Presidency Council continue directly with local governments to contribute to solving all problems of the provinces.

A statement from Al-Kaabi's office said to the twilight news that the latter visited the province of Najaf and met with Governor Louay al-Yasiri and members of the local government in the headquarters of the province.

"Our presence directly with the local governments in our governorates contributes to solving all the problems that suffer from the lack of basic services and the deterioration of infrastructure projects, as well as the exacerbation of the housing and unemployment crises," Al-Kaabi said.

"The provinces of Najaf and Karbala have their distinct characteristics as they embrace the shrines of the faithful imams that led to the flourishing of religious tourism through the influx of millions of Arab and foreign visitors every year."

He pointed out that "the current legislative session will be different from its predecessors in terms of attention to financial allocations to the provinces and maximize their financial imports to be able to upgrade the level of services provided to citizens and overcome their recurrent crises."
