Popular pressure on the government over the rise in the exchange rate of the dollar led Prime Minister Mohamed Shia al-Sudani to dismiss the governor of the Central Bank, at a time when parliament was absent on the rise in the exchange rate.
The green currency overthrows the governor of the central bank after the insane rise that exhausted the poor and ignited prices in the markets. Popular pressure left no other option for the prime minister but to exempt the governor and bring in another, at a time when deputies indicate that the uniqueness of the powers of the coordination framework in the decision is the reason behind the weakness of oversight work within the Council .
Although a parliamentary request was submitted with the signature of more than eighty deputies to discuss the exchange rate, the Presidency of the Council did not take the request into consideration, according to deputies, while many question the role of parliament in dealing with crises related to the citizen’s power.
