    Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul-Mahdi received the head of the United Nations Mission in Iraq, Jan Kubic.
    Kubic congratulated Adel Abdul Mahdi on his mandate to form the Iraqi government, discussed future cooperation between Iraq and the United Nations, and the Iraqi Mission's programs in Iraq in the field of restoring stability and in other areas, in addition to the support of the international community for Iraq in reconstruction.

    The United Nations Mission confirmed its continued support for Iraq in all areas and looked forward to seeing more stability and reconstruction in the coming period and to the implementation of projects to serve Iraq and its people.

    Abdul Hadi was born in Baghdad in 1942 and holds a BA in Economics from the University of Baghdad in 1963. He completed his Masters in Political Science at the International Institute of Public Administration in Paris in 1970 and then in Economics at the University of Bouatte in France in 1972. .
    Abdul Hadi worked at the Center for Regional Economic Research at the University of Bouatieh and then left for Syria and Lebanon in 1973. He worked at the Arab Institute for Development and the Arab Institute for Arab Development as head of the economy department from the late 1970s until 1982.
    Adel Abdul Hadi worked in the Iraqi Foreign Ministry as a third secretary, from 1965 until 1969.
