Israel gives the US Embassy in Jerusalem an additional 700 square meters
Israeli mayor announced in Jerusalem , Nir Barkat, on Wednesday, its ratification of the expansion works at the US Embassy in the city, will expand its buildings about 700 square meters additional.
"I'm proud to have agreed to expand the US embassy," Barakat wrote in a twitter comment on his Twitter account. He added that the transfer of the embassy was a historic step by President Trump, who explained to the whole world that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the State of Israel .
"We will continue to help the US administration expand its activities in the capital, and we will be happy to open additional embassies to many countries in Jerusalem," he added.
US Ambassador David Friedman has announced the expansion of the embassy in Jerusalem, which requires permission from the so-called "Israeli municipality" in Jerusalem.
