Mubasher: The US non-farm private sector added more jobs than expected to the labor market this month.
The non-agricultural sector added 213,000 jobs in January, compared with 263,000 in December, according to data released on Wednesday.
The US private sector is expected to add 180,000 jobs to the US job market this month.
According to the data, the services sector added 145,000 jobs in January as opposed to 68,000 jobs added by the commodity sector in the same period.
Monthly employment data is due to be released in the US economy on Friday amid expectations of 165,000 jobs.
By 1:19 pm GMT, the greenback was steady against its European counterpart to hit the euro at $ 1.1431.
