South Korean Defense Ministry spokesman Tsui Hyung-soo said Monday that the armed forces are building missile systems similar to the Patriot system to effectively protect against any threats.
"Our armed forces are developing their own missile systems, which are essentially similar to the Patriot system, to counter North Korean short-range missiles," said the spokesman, "We will continue to build such means to effectively protect ourselves from any threats."
At the same time, according to the Reinhab agency, the spokesman could not answer a question about the type of missiles North Korea tested, and said the United States and South Korea were working jointly to analyze information on the subject.
Earlier this month, North Korea launched short-range missile tests. The United States and Japan did not exclude that the tests were short-range ballistic missiles
