    He explained that "the work of ministers from both sides in the meetings today was based on the agreements reached and discussions in 2018 and 2019."
    "The meetings focused on bilateral trade and economic files, the development of border ports as well as energy files," he said.
    A number of Iraqi ministers, including foreign ministers, finance, higher education, electricity and culture, as well as the chairman of the Investment Authority, held a joint round of talks with their Kuwaiti counterparts today to discuss joint issues.
    The visit of Kuwait's Amir Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah is the first in seven years when he visited Baghdad to participate in the Arab summit in its regular session. Finished 25 s

    The Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, Wednesday, that his visit to Baghdad an opportunity to resolve the outstanding issues between Iraq and Kuwait. 
    "The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, held a formal session of talks at the Peace Palace in Baghdad with the Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah," a presidential statement said. "The meeting discussed the latest political developments in the region. As well as the contribution of Kuwait in the reconstruction of Iraq, relations between the two countries and ways to upgrade them to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples. " 
    Saleh welcomed Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad and his accompanying delegation, hoping that "this visit will be a good opportunity to turn the past and start a constructive relations page between the two brotherly neighbors."
    "Iraq has a strong desire to build advanced relations with its neighbors, especially with Kuwait, in a way that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples," Saleh said. 
    "Iraq is looking at the nature of the current crisis in the region with a broad perspective and seeks to achieve a comprehensive regional consensus on the basis of dialogue and good neighborliness between countries," he said.  
    "The visit is an opportunity to discuss means of enhancing and developing cooperation between the two countries and resolving the outstanding issues between them, and it comes as a culmination of the strong relations," he said, adding that his country is keen to support and enable Iraq to overcome the repercussions of the terrorist acts and its reconstruction. "He said. 
    He stressed that "Kuwait firmly believes in the importance of Iraq's security and stability."
    On the same level, "the President of the Republic held a luncheon in honor of the Amir of the State of Kuwait and his accompanying delegation, attended by the heads of the Council of Ministers and Representatives Adel Abdul Mahdi and Mohamed Halbusi and the President of the Federal Court Medhat Mahmoud and senior officials from both sides." 
    The Amir of Kuwait Sabah Jaber Al-Sabah arrived Wednesday morning in Baghdad for an official visit. 
    The President of the Republic, Barham Saleh, received the Amir of the State of Kuwait at Baghdad International Airport. 
    "The visit will be a turning point in the relations between the two countries, ending previous understandings of issues and issues between Iraq and Kuwait, and a unified vision on the current crisis and escalation in the Gulf region," a senior government official said earlier this morning.
    He pointed out that "cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding are to be signed, focusing on maritime navigation, demarcation of the water and land borders, the Khawr Abd Allah file, joint oil fields, trade exchange and security cooperation between the two countries." 
    He stressed that "the file of Iraqi debt owed to Kuwait is a judicial file, not political, as part of the losses suffered by Kuwait in the invasion of Iraq in 1990 for individuals and Kuwaiti citizens Iraq understands this, and can be discussed only to accelerate the closure completely to fold this page permanently.
