TOKYO (Reuters) - Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Friday he wanted to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, despite the latter continuing missile tests.

In a speech to parliament, the Japanese official said he would use any chance to meet Kim.

North Korea resumed missile tests before continuing nuclear negotiations with the United States this weekend. The new test included a missile that landed inside Japan's exclusive economic zone.
US President Donald Trump said Thursday that the United States remained committed to restarting nuclear talks with Pyongyang despite the recent test.
North Korea said on Thursday it had successfully tested a "new type" of submarine-launched ballistic missiles.
