[rtl]Baghdad ( NINA ) - The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, called during his meeting with Cardinal Mar Louis Sako for dialogue, convergence, dismissal of differences, and strengthening the security and stability of the country.
A presidential statement stated that Salih received, today, Thursday, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, Cardinal Mar Louis Raphael I Sacco, who expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic for his efforts in making the visit of Pope Francis to Iraq a success, as well as the wide governmental effort that contributed to that, pointing to the importance of the visit. To all Iraqis who have shown a great welcome to the Pope from Muslims, Christians and the rest of the spectrum.
For his part, the President of the Republic praised the efforts of the Iraqi Church and its role in preparing for the visit, pointing out that Pope Francis' visit represented a deep humanitarian message of solidarity for a country that has suffered from violence and conflicts and looks forward to moving forward towards establishing Its security, stability and peace, preservation of its peaceful coexistence and the protection of its various sects and components. / End 2[/rtl]
