"The Ministry of Trade started, since last Friday, the launch of the ration for the month of Ramadan in the four basic terms (sugar, oil, rice, and flour} in addition to zero flour (5 kilos per family)," the ministry’s spokesman, Muhammad Hanoun, told Al-Furat News. , Calling on citizens to "receive what is equipped for them."
Hanoun added, "The Ministry of Trade, since 2014, has been preparing the basic vocabulary of citizens based on the allocations of the general budget and the Ministry of Finance."
And the ministry spokesman went on to say: "We faced in previous years great problems due to the ministry's failure to obtain financial allocations in addition to the economic crisis and the lack of financial liquidity in the Ministry of Finance."
And he added, "
Hanoun pointed out that "the control teams in the Ministry of Trade and with the Organized Crime Agency in the Ministry of Interior and National Security made several rounds to follow up prices in local markets and monitor violations."
He continued, "We found a discrepancy during the follow-up, as we saw that food prices declined during the past three days well, but they suddenly increased on Sunday."
And between "we have high-level coordination with the Ministry of Finance and the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives in order to add new amounts to the ration card to buy additional new materials to stabilize the process of processing the ration card items."
