Salih said in the program "Bal Three", which is shown on Al-Sharqiya TV and followed by "People", (April 17, 2021), that "the great reluctance that the previous election witnessed was due to a lack of confidence in it, and its results, in the view of many Iraqis and youth, did not represent their true will." That is why the popular movement emerged, "stressing that" the forthcoming elections must be fair and just and enable Iraqis to choose the fittest, to express the citizens' true interests. "
He added, "The upcoming elections are the last chance for the existing political system, and the current system has come to change and adopt comprehensive reform, and the correct way to that is elections that must be fair in all its stages." Pointing out that "it is advocates that the election of governors be directly from the citizens, so that he can better serve the people of his city."
Regarding the Cherine demonstrations, Saleh stated that they "represent a discreet societal movement demanding reform, and the demonstrations were reduced to a beautiful slogan (We want a homeland), and this movement has had an important impact and produced important changes, including the electoral law and the election commission."
On the outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil, the President of the Republic stressed that they are "political differences, and there are politicians on both sides who wanted to turn it into a societal dispute, and time has passed for those who want to reduce the Iraqi situation to a Kurdish-Arab conflict, and whoever practices it wants to distract us from issues." Corruption and problems. "
He continued by saying, "I am proud of my nationalism and that I am a Kurd, and I cannot defend the share of Kurdistan without defending the share of Basra, Nasiriyah, Amara and Mosul."
He expressed his hope that "the oil and gas law will be fully legislated and the constitutional articles applied to establish the Financial Resources Fund, and we have a team in the presidency that is busy with that."
Saleh stressed the importance of "a national dialogue and a new political contract, after 18 years of rule, and today's failures cannot be justified by the previous regime, as the Iraqis deserve better."
He stated, "Citizens in Basra, Kurdistan, Baghdad, Dhi Qar and the rest of the cities are not satisfied with the status quo, and they are looking for structural reforms, and now there is a serious popular and elite movement to reform the system of government, and the upcoming elections are a starting point for that."
The President of the Republic pointed out that "the most appropriate concept for Iraq is the concept of civil, as the civil state is one that protects its citizens and maintains the system of values and respects it." Stressing that "corruption is the political economy of violence, financial corruption needs chaos and violence to perpetuate itself, and violence also breeds corruption, and there is a dangerous collision between terrorism and the media, corruption, corrupt political and foreign interference."
Saleh pointed out that "one of the protesters' legitimate demands is to amend the constitution, and there is a team in the presidency that includes constitutional jurists who are working on that, and we present these ideas to the political forces, and can we adopt them during the next elections, or we wait until after the elections and we have a legitimate parliament. new".
As for the Iraqi movement towards the Arab countries, Saleh explained that "the geographical location of Iraq is based on its important Arab depth, and our relations with Iran and Turkey are important, and the Iraqi openness with Jordan and Egypt is an important step of joint cooperation and will be beneficial to the whole region", pointing out that the cause of the region's problems is The collapse of the regional system, the return of a strong, capable and sovereign Iraq, and the element of convergence of interests, will be the basis for a stable regional system based on the common interests of all.
As he pointed out that "the host of the reeds next to the presidential palace hosted foreign officials with pride in the civilization and value of Mesopotamia, which is one of the oldest types of architecture in the world."
