Kurdistan Parliament calls for the implementation of Article 140
Today, Saturday, the Kurdistan Regions Committee outside the region’s administration in the Kurdistan Parliament issued a statement condemning the terrorist attack that targeted the Peshmerga forces in the Bardi region.
In its statement, the committee said: With deep concern and as a result of the security vacuum and taking advantage of it again in the Kurdish regions, armed groups from the terrorist organization ISIS attacked the Peshmerga forces in the Bardi area, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of Peshmerga forces' personnel.
The statement added: We in the Kurdistan Regions Committee outside the administration of the region offer our condolences to the families of the martyrs and complete a speedy recovery for the wounded. We call on the federal government to abide by the agreements concluded between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government in forming joint forces between the Peshmerga and the federal army. We also call for speeding up the implementation of the constitutional Article 140 steps to normalize the situation in the deducted areas.
