The Coordinator for Middle East Affairs at the White House, Brett McGurk affirmed that the new US administration views with interest its partnership and its relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and is interested in consolidating long-term cooperation between them.

This came during a meeting with the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, who confirmed that the visit of the high-ranking American delegation to the region is a clear message indicating Washington's continued support and assistance to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and its insistence on joint and collective work to finally eliminate ISIS, confront terrorism and stabilize stability.
