    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Health warned, today, Wednesday, of the danger of a high number of infections with the Corona virus, and expected it to lose control of containing the disease at any moment.
    A member of the medical and media team at the ministry, Ruba Falah Hassan, said in a press statement, "Injuries and deaths are increasing, and this is evidence of the severity of the third wave, which is characterized by the rapid spread and injury of young and small groups."
    She added, "Hospitals are overwhelmed with severe and critical cases, yet we have the capacity to absorb the increase."
    She pointed out that "every health system in the world, no matter how developed, will be affected by the significant increase in the number of infections, even if it has a large absorptive capacity, and in Iraq we may reach the stage of losing control of the situation."
    Hassan continued, "The increase exposes the country to a fourth wave that is more severe and more dangerous than its predecessors."
    It is noteworthy that this warning is the second for the Ministry of Health within hours, as the Director General of the Public Health Department in the ministry, Abdel Amir Al-Halfi, announced the ministry’s recommendation to the Supreme Committee for Health and Safety to impose a comprehensive ban for a period of only two weeks “to cut the chain of infection spread and reduce pressure on hospitals crowded with infected people.”
    Al-Halfi said, "Our warnings continue regarding the seriousness of the epidemiological situation and the fullness of hospitals with critical and severe cases, as well as the lack of commitment and the significant increase in the number of injuries, which may exceed the absorptive capacity of health institutions and exhaust medical and health staff."
