    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Health announced that Iraq had entered the fourth epidemic wave of the Corona virus.
    The Director-General of the Public Health Department in the ministry, Riyadh Al-Halfi, told {Euphrates News}: "Iraq has entered the fourth epidemic wave of the Corona virus, and with the new mutant {Omicron}, the new wave will be severe and high in infections."
    He explained, "The increase in the positive numbers of infections is a sign of the beginning of the fourth wave, and the safest way, and the scientific logic to confront it requires going to take anti-epidemic vaccines."
    Al-Halfi added, "We are waiting for developments in the epidemiological situation to raise new recommendations and tighten procedures," noting that "if the epidemiological situation intensifies, we may have to stop attendance at schools and impose a curfew, and this all depends on the epidemiological situation in Iraq."
    Today, Thursday, the Federal Ministry of Health announced the registration of the first cases of the "Omicron" mutant.
    And she pointed out that "5 cases of omicron were recorded from Dohuk governorate, and a number of cases were from foreign diplomats in Baghdad."
    For his part, the Minister of Health in the Kurdistan Region, Saman Al-Barzanji, confirmed in a press conference held today, that "the injured are members of one family and reside in the Dohuk governorate, and they had returned from outside the country."
    He explained that "the health condition of all the injured is stable and they do not need to be placed under medical care."
