The Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Water and Marshes demanded, on Wednesday, the government to open new farms and fields to enhance livestock according to modern principles.
The head of the committee, Salam Al-Shammari, said in a statement received by NRT Arabic, a copy of it, (August 4, 2021), that "the country is rich in various types of income-generating animals and various products that need more care and attention."
The statement added, "Many countries in the world pay great attention to their livestock, and some of them consider them an important part of the state's financial resources."
He explained, "The matter requires a well-thought-out plan from the concerned authorities to develop the existing farms, fields, and other establishments, and to benefit from their resources to open more, in addition to employing graduates of the concerned colleges (veterinary medicine, agriculture) and others instead of leaving them without benefiting from them."
