The commander of the law enforcement forces, Major General Jawad Kazem Al-Daraji, revealed on Thursday (October 21, 2021) the reason for the deployment of his forces in Karrada, in the center of the capital, Baghdad.
Al-Daraji said, in a statement received by IQ News , that "our units are deployed near Al-Hassanin Square in Al-Karrada to protect the peaceful demonstrators."
He pointed out, "emphasizing the tightening of security measures and manual searches by making filters around the place where the demonstrators gather, as well as providing them with moral, humanitarian and service support."
