    The General Company for Ports of Iraq announced, on Wednesday, that it had reached 90% of the campaign to remove abuses in the port of Umm Qasr, while confirming that these abuses were under legal cover.
    In a statement received by the National News Center, the company’s director, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said that “maintenance work in the northern and southern Umm Qasr ports was almost halted, with the absence of the legal aspect of the work due to the construction of the land under the pretext that it was rented. But he deals with it by establishing informal housing complexes and stores to sell spare materials.”
    Al-Fartousi added, "The company initiated campaigns six months ago to remove the abuses, and it has now reached a percentage of more than 90%, and only the caravan is left for its owners, with no victims."
    He explained, "The company presented the agricultural campaign project and will announce a tender for its implementation soon, to add aesthetics to the entrance to the port of Umm Qasr by planting gardens and establishing electronic fountains, and the project was worth more than 5 billion dinars."
    He stated that "the access road to the port has been 100% completed, as for the exit project from the port, the completion rate has reached advanced stages, by covering the beginning of the entrance to the new gate towards the port of Umm Qasr and the construction of the Gate 4 as well as the Gates and Gates. And the old network, and the port of Umm Qasr will appear in a new look.”
    Al-Fartousi pointed out to "the continuation of work in the Great Welcome Square, as the company achieved good results by investing in it to serve large trucks, instead of causing confusion in the multi-ports and facade of garages."
    And he indicated that "the work of the Great Welcome Yard, as a first stage, covers an area of ​​500,000 square meters, and the project will be completed at the beginning of the first months of the year, so that the general complex will be separated."
