, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, issued a directive on Thursday regarding compensating the lands allocated to the Ministry of Defense.
And his media office stated in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that "Al-Ghazi paid the price for the joint efforts between the relevant authorities, regarding the record period during which the first phase of implementing the Council of Ministers' decision (343 of 2021), regarding the procedures for acquiring land plots, was completed. Intended for the development and expansion of the Holy Kadhimiya.
The Secretary-General directed "the State Real Estate Department to expedite its procedures within the second phase of compensating the lands allocated to the Ministry of Defense with land outside the city, as well as removing the conflicts related to the lands approved by the decision of the Council of Ministers."
For its part, the Baghdad Municipality and the Shiite Endowment Bureau confirmed during the coordination meeting on the implementation of the aforementioned cabinet decision, "they have completed the procedures for expropriating the 298 plots of land for the Kadhimiya Holy Shrine, with the exception of one of the plots of land that is being processed by the administrative procedures for expropriation."
It is noteworthy that the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Ghazi, gave the institutions concerned to complete the procedures for the ownership of lands for the expansion of the Holy Kadhimiya, within a maximum period of seven days.
The meeting was attended by the head of the Shiite Endowment Diwan, advisers to the Prime Minister, and general managers of legal departments from the relevant authorities, to put in place the legal adaptation regarding the implementation of Cabinet Resolution (343 of 2021) regarding the expansion of the Holy Shrine of the two Imams, peace be upon them, whereby cuts were allotted. The lands requested from the purified Kadhimiya threshold, free of charge; To expand or build the Holy Shrine, rehabilitate old religious schools, or implement projects that serve visitors.
