Earth News/ Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, confirmed today, Monday, that the Iraqi government pays great attention to the transition to clean energy uses through the implementation of large projects in cooperation with specialized international companies.
The ministry said in a statement, received by Earth News, that "the Minister of Oil and the National Oil Company are participating in the work of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2022 on the transition towards clean energy, which started today in the United Arab Emirates in the presence of ministers, ambassadors and specialists in the field of energy."
Ismail said, according to the statement, that "the government of Iraq pays great attention to the transition to clean energy uses through the implementation of large projects in cooperation with specialized international companies," noting that "the future vision of these projects is in line with global trends towards reducing emissions and preserving the environment and climate, as well as The global trend to reduce the use of fossil fuels and take advantage of available natural energies such as solar and wind energy.”
He added, "Continuing to implement clean energy projects also has economic returns, as it reduces spending on energy production and achieves sustainable development for the national economy."
Ismail continued, “The importance of attending and participating in these international conferences, during which the most important global visions and modern technologies are discussed in the transition towards the uses of renewable and clean energy, and the possibility of concluding understandings to develop the clean energy industry in Iraq.”
It is noteworthy that the activities of the World Future Energy Summit 2022 kicked off today within the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, and the events focused on energy and sustainability topics, hosted by the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, will continue until January 19 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.
